Anita Lafleur Obituary
Anita Yvonne Lafleur, 90, formerly of Orleans, VT passed away on May 11, 2023 in Newport, VT surrounded by her daughters. She was born on July 29, 1932 in Holland, VT to the late Rufus and Dorilda (Lussier) Patenaude. On October 10, 1953 she married Jean Paul Lafleur who predeceased her on April 1, 1996.
Anita enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and working around her house. Her pride and joy were her daughters and their families. She was a woman of great faith and passed it on to her daughters. She was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, where she would also volunteer at church functions and funeral luncheons.
She is survived by her six daughters: Jacqueline Aulis and her husband Arthur of Newport, VT; Jeannette Quintal and her husband Gerald of Newport, VT; Francine Quintal and her husband Daniel of Orleans, VT; Lucie Morley and her husband Bill of East Albany, VT; Mary Burnham and her husband Doug of Irasburg, VT; and Theresa Jacobs and her husband John of Irasburg, VT; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, sisters Rose Gravel of Quebec; and Rita Gobeil and her husband Raymond of Derby Line, VT; and sister-in-law Lucille Patenaude of Derby, VT.
She was also predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Omer, Peter, Larry, Raymond and Leo Patenaude; sisters Marielle Morin, Cecile Wheeler, and Jeanine Lague; brothers-in-law Merle Wheeler and Bert Lague; sister-in-law Mercedese Patenaude; and her grandson Nicholas Jacobs.
Friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday May 15, 2023 at the Curtis-Britch & Bouffard Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Derby. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Orleans, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated, with Father Curtis Miller officiating. Interment will follow at St. Theresa's Cemetery in Orleans. Anita was such a wonderful woman. It was always a pleasure to see her. I remember her from many years ago being a child and going over to visit. Now she is probably having a wonderful time seeing all of her family gone before her. And no more pain in her little body! I know her family here, are going to be at a huge loss. I'll be praying for each of you. I am so, so sorry for your loss.
