MAHOMET - Barbara Ann Ogle, of Mahomet, passed away peacefully on the morning of Oct. 13, 2025. She lived a full life and continued to display a love of life and a humor until the end.
She was born on Feb. 7, 1945, as the daughter of Ernest and Alvina Rice in Barrington, graduated from Barrington High School in 1963, and studied at Northern Illinois University before joining the world of work at United Airlines, where she took advantage of the travel perks to see the world.
She married in 1969, lived near Plainfield and raised four healthy boys. She returned to work as the boys got older, rediscovered her childhood passion for horseback riding in the '90s, and loved spending time with her horse, Bubba. She retired and moved to Mahomet in 2014, married Robert Ogle in 2015, and enjoyed retired life with family visits, church activities at Mahomet Christian Church, and social time in euchre and mahjong clubs.
She is survived and warmly remembered by her husband, Robert Ogle; her sons, Michael (Yunhui) Staffeldt and Thomas (Renae) Staffeldt; her grandsons, Mason and Nathan (Natasha) Staffeldt; her sister, Patricia (Brian) Kyrk; as well as the many close friends and relatives, both far and near.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Alvina Rice; her brother, Robert Rice; and her sons, Jeffrey and Scott Staffeldt.

Barb was our next door neighbor in Cortland, IL. She was Bob's Rock and a Ray of sunshine in our life. I was so saddened to read she had passed, but thankful to know she is with Jesus and I will see her again soon! Blessings on her loving husband Bob, and her sons.

Barb was a friend, sister-in-Christ and one of the most upbeat persons I've known. I will miss her positive attitude, humor, and bright smile. She will be missed by so many, including her Mahomet Christian Church family and Cracked Pot sister. My deepest sympathy.

Have known Barb and her family from Anderman Acres. Scott was like a second son to me, he and my son were great friends since they were about 2 years old. So many good memories. Sincere condolences to your husband and sons. Rest in peace in Jesus arms Barb.
