Daniel 'Thin Man' Perry Tolono - Daniel "Thin Man" Perry, 66, of Tolono passed away at 8:56 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 8, 2025) at home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney, with Pastor Dan Foultz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sidney. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Dan was born March 7, 1959, in Crawfordsville, Ind., a son to Ivan and Ersie Gaines Perry. He married Diane Childress on Nov. 20, 1982. She preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1998. Surviving are four children, Barbie Beals of St. Joseph, Amanda (Prakash) Kannan of Dallas, Danielle (Chris) Wade of Tolono and Maggie Perry of Urbana; 11 grandchildren, Jackson Beals, Hallie and Carlie Duitsman, Diana, Elyssa, Chloé Kannan and Christian (Sidnie) and Abigail, Dawsen (Jessica), Kenna and Emily Wade; three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Nash and Sloane; and his siblings William (Bonnie) Perry of Veedersburg, Ind., Susie (Gary) Cox of Veedersburg, David Perry of Homer and Jimmy (Theresa) Perry of Champaign. He was preceded in death by his sibling Dewaine, Bev, Tootie, Gene, Allen and Rose Marie; parents; and a son-in-law, Aaron Scott. He drove a semi for over 40 years, most recently at Mitchaner Trucking. Prior, he was owner/operator for LTL Freight Co. His CB handle was "Thin Man." He enjoyed camping, canoe trips, golf-cart rides, campfires, NASCAR and old Westerns. He was known for having sarcastic humor and the best quips. He was also a foster parent for dozens of children, changing and molding their lives. He was a strong man of faith. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
