Diana "'Dee'" Parkin

Diana 'Dee' Parkin Urbana - Diana "Dee" S. Parkin, 74, of Urbana passed away Saturday (Nov. 1, 2025) at home. She was born on Sept. 16, 1951, in Charleston, the daughter of Jerry E. and Lillie Mae (Hall) Taylor. Dee married Jeffery J. Parkin on Aug. 12, 1985; he survives. Dee is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Hutchinson and Dillon Kielhorn; and great-granddaughter, Ellie Mae. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Shuman; brothers, Michael Taylor and Mike Taylor; and a sister, Debbie Welsh. Dee was known for her kind heart and genuine love for animals. Throughout her life, she found joy in gardening, exploring garage sales and rummaging through thrift stores, always on the lookout for hidden treasures. Dee's family would like to thank the staff at Carle Foundation Hospital, Christie Clinic and Transitions Hospice for all their care over the past year. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign. A graveside service to honor Dee's life will immediately follow the visitation at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
