Frank Lofrano Obituary

DeLAND - Frank J. Lofrano, 77, of Monticello, passed away at 11:46 p.m. Dec. 7, 2024, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.

Private family graveside services with military honors will be held at the DeLand Cemetery, DeLand, with Msgr. Michael Bliss officiating. A public visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, at Calvert Funeral Home, DeLand, with a Knights of Columbus ceremony at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Philomena Catholic Church, Monticello, or the Knights of Columbus, Monticello.

Frank was born Sept. 12, 1947, in Belleville, N.J., the son of Thomas and Madeline (Francisco) Lofrano. He married Sylvia Kidd on June 29, 1968, in Monticello.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Lofrano, Monticello; children Audra (Mike) White, Monticello, Tara Lofrano (Carey Cupp), Mansfield, and Jared (Katie Madigan) Lofrano, Urbana; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and siblings Genevieve (Anthony) Virgilio, Bedminster, N.J., and Jamie (Vinny) Parigi, Palm Harbor, Fla.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents.

Frank was an Air Force veteran and was a sales manager at Action Technology in Clinton from 1982 to 2013.  He was a 4th-degree Knight of Columbus, Monticello, and advocate for the Knights of Columbus Council for four years. Frank was also a past member of the DeLand-Weldon School Board. Frank enjoyed working in his lawn and gardening, red cabernet, family dinners - he enjoyed cooking for his family - and watching reruns of M*A*S*H. He also enjoyed traveling. Frank and Sylvia enjoyed their many cruises and vacations over the years.
