Janet Bush Obituary

DeLAND - Janet M. Bush, 83, of Champaign, formerly of DeLand, passed away 2:30 a.m. Thursday (June 5, 2025) at her family home Champaign.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at DeLand Cemetery, DeLand, with Pastor Ken Couch officiating. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, DeLand, with arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Janet was born Sept. 11, 1941, in Champaign, the daughter of Roy M. and Grace (Lusk) Mullvain. She married James E. "Jim" Bush on Oct. 11, 1991, in Champaign. He passed away Aug. 26, 2024.

Survivors include her children, Patrick (Laura) Palmer of Delavan, Wis., and Douglas (Melody) Palmer of Nolensville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jonathan (Danielle) Palmer of Chicago, Haley (Lydia Morrow) Palmer of St. Louis, Allison Palmer of London, England, Evan Palmer of Nara, Japan, and William Palmer of Chicago; great-grandson, Julian Palmer of Chicago; nephew, Dr. Jeffry Mullvain of San Diego; and nieces, JoEllen Skolek and Jennifer Kaufman, both of El Paso.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Philip R. Mullvain.

Janet retired from Ceres Management in DeLand after 25 years of service. She enjoyed antiques, music, playing the piano, and singing. Most of all, Janet loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
