CHAMPAIGN - Larry Duane McGuire, 81, of Champaign passed away peacefully at 8:09 a.m. Monday (Sept. 29, 2025) at Accolade Healthcare of Savoy.
The funeral service will be at noon Friday, Oct. 3, at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11 a.m.
Entombment will be at 12:30 p.m. in the mausoleum at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
Larry was born Oct. 25, 1943, in Mt. Carmel, a son of Marjorie and Curtis McGuire of Mt. Carmel. He married Linda Britt on Oct. 14, 1967.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, and his parents.
He worked at the SuperValu warehouse until he retired. Larry enjoyed attending train shows and collecting trains. He was a fan of oId TV Westerns and loved driving around the country to see trains, and visiting with friends.
He was a member of Windsor Road Christian Church, the Illini Chapter of the Illinois Association of the Deaf, and Illini Deaf Senior Citizens. He was a fan of Illini football and basketball. He will be greatly missed by many close friends who felt like family.
