Marie Dennis Obituary
CHAMPAIGN – Graveside Celebration of Life services for Marie Dennis, 71, of Champaign, will be at 11 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2009, at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
Visitation will be private.
Mrs. Dennis died at 1:50 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Helia Heathcare, Champaign.
She was born Nov. 27, 1937, in Hopkinsville, Ky., a daughter of Frank and Nancy (Evans) Allen. She married Charles F. Dennis on Sept. 22, 1957, in Champaign. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2008.
Surviving are two sons, Michael E. Dennis, of Champaign, and Jack Dennis, of Franklinton, La.; two sisters, Doris Smittley and Judy Barr, both of Indianapolis; a grandson, Sam Dennis, and a great-grandson, Xander Dennis, both of Champaign.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Dennis was self-employed as a beautician. Her hobbies included bowling, cooking, and listening to country and western music.
She was a member of the Sadorus Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
