GIBSON CITY - Marilyn Ann (Humphrey) Lykins, 94, passed peacefully on Jan. 9, 2025, at Goldwater Care, under the care of Transitions Hospice, in Gibson City, both of whom are gratefully acknowledged.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, John David Lykins DVM; parents, William and Nelda (Alexander) Humphrey; and sister, Jacquelyn Diss.
She leaves behind son Dr. Todd DVM (Gina) of Mahomet, granddaughter Taylor (Lance Workman), son Kipp (Jane Fox) of Paw Paw and grandchildren Nicholas, John-John and Lauren.
Marilyn had a master's of education from the University of Illinois. Her passion for teaching sixth grade at Mansfield Elementary was tragically cut short by a stroke. Her rehabilitation was inspirational. She was a caring teacher for many Mansfield students, den mother to Cub Scouts and a lover of pets, math, science and antiques.
Services will be private. Memorials may be made to donate.gibsonhospital.org.

May God bless All of your Family. Marilyn was a Lovely Classy Lady! She was Beautiful Both inside and Out. She had a Heart of Gold, and her Stoke came Way to early in her life. God Bless All of You, Love,
