SEYMOUR - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sweet baby boy, Oliver Garrett Baker-Drennan.
He was born on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, the beloved son of Kelsey R. Baker and Shane G. Drennan and precious baby brother to Olivia Rose (5 years old). Oliver gained his angel wings on Wednesday (June 5, 2024).
Oliver is survived by his parents, Kelsey and Shane; big sister, Olivia; maternal family, Brenda G. Seten-Baker and Larry E. Baker of Mansfield (grandparents), Rose M. Seten of Fisher (great-grandmother), Katherine R. (Baker) and Bradley A. Bohn of Freeport, Fla. (aunt and uncle), Blakely R. (4 years) and Everly R. (1 month) (cousins), Donna (Seten) and Brian Glenn of Kingsland, Ga. (special great aunt and uncle), and Mary and Shawna Glenn (second cousins); paternal family, Todd and Cathy Drennan of Champaign (grandparents), Melvin and Margret (Meg) Drennan of Mahomet (great-grandparents), Samantha (Sami) and Cameron Roch of Mahomet (aunt and uncle) and Tyler Roch (cousin).
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Roena and Charles Earle and John Lambert; great-grandparents Donald R. Seten and Phyllis Drennan; and great-great-grandparents, Katherine I. (Sutton) and Dorry U. Denny, Fern I. (Harrelson) and Ralph L. Seten.
Oliver loved hearing his sissy call him "my bubba" and getting his paci from her, as well as having his blanket and bouncy chair. He enjoyed eating oatmeal, bananas and applesauce but mostly loved snuggling with family and watching cartoons.
Visitation will be at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 352 County Road 2700 North, Mahomet, on Wednesday, June 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11 with Pastor Kevin Little officiating. Oliver will be laid to rest beside his great-great-grandparents at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. After the burial, all are welcome to join the family at the church for a light lunch. As a request from the parents, please dress in bright colors to celebrate Oliver's wonderful life and bring a (new with tags) stuffed animal that will be donated to the NICU at Carle in Oliver's memory.
In lieu of flowers, Kelsey and Shane request that donations be made toward Olivia's college fund. Condolences may be offered at owensfuneralhomes.com.
