Rebecca 'Becky' Green Obituary

Rebecca 'Becky' Jo Green Danville - Rebecca "Becky" Jo Green, born Aug. 21, 1962, in Danville, passed away Thursday (Nov. 6, 2025) in Champaign after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Jackie (Grace) Reffett and Patricia Tiffin. On July 23, 1983, Becky married Gary Green in Danville, and he survives. She is also survived by her parents; children, Tracy (Shannon) Albert, Travis Green, Kelsey Green and Cory Green; grandchildren Deegan and Oliver Albert and Mason Green; siblings, Tina (Michael) Fiedler of Riverview, Fla., and James Reffett of Bradenton, Fla.; mother-in-law, Dorothy Butterfield; as well as close friends Dana Daily and Linda Nijak. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Reagan Williams; grandparents, Ross "Dick" and Freida Tracey and Ralph and Ester Reffett; and father-in-law, Bob Green. Becky graduated from Danville Area Community College with a certification in radiologic technology and later earned a master's degree in hospital administration while working at Provena in Danville. Her career took her to Hawaii as a traveling MRI technologist, including time spent working at Kona Community Hospital on the Big Island. She concluded her professional journey as an MRI/CT technologist at the VA hospital in Danville. Becky enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos, where she had a knack for winning; watching reality television shows, especially "Survivor" and "Big Brother"; shopping; and spending cherished time with her family and friends. She was legendary at "going big" at Christmas, always trying to make each year better than the last. Her strength and spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her life. Per Becky's wishes, no services will be held.

I remember the stories she´d tell Gary to tell me and I´m still laughing my butt off. Set fire to the torture rack called a futon for me, Queen Becky!

My sister Kathy was babysitting Becky,Tina, Jim and I and trying to watch television when Becky came up with the grand plan of her and I walking arm and arm as slow as possible playing Grandma and Grandpa in front of the television. Back and forth we went just to infuriate Kathy. We laughed and laughed and laughed although there were many many more memories shared. I loved her very much and you could always count on her for a laugh! She will be missed.

Becky was a big part of my young life. We couldn't wait for our parents to visit so we could listen to the Bee Gees. Loved my cousin very much. So sorry for the whole family. She was a rock solid person to have in your corner.

I have known Becky since 1996 when she entered X-ray school at United Samaritans hospital. I then met back up with her working at the VA and worked with her in MRI. Becky was a blast to work with and she loved to laugh, even when she was feeling bad, she always pushed through and never complained. Her strength and her will to spend as much time as she could with her family and friends was truly amazing.
If you are her friend you are special in her eyes and she made sure you felt it. Not only on birthdays and holidays but every day.Becky will be missed by so many people.
My heart goes out to Gary and her kids and grandkids.
