ATWOOD - Roger R. Long, 93, of Atwood passed away Sunday (Oct. 5, 2025) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Roger was born on Sept. 10, 1932, in Pierson Station, to Ralph H. Long and Elma M. (Davis) Long. Roger graduated from Atwood High School in 1951. He married Wanda Mae Wetzel on Nov. 21, 1954, in Tuscola. She survives.
He is also survived by his sons, Rick (Sonya) Long of Decatur and Randy (Alta) Long of Tuscola; seven grandchildren, Phil (Ashley) Long, David (Stephanie) Long, Kristen (Scott) Martin, Amber (Matt) Schulz, Ashley (Corey) Immke, Makenna Long and Miranda Long; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bob Long of Hammond.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roger served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Central Illinois Light Company in 1995. Roger was a 60-year member of the Internation Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. A lifelong photographer, he and Wanda operated Long Photography, taking many area wedding, senior and sports photographs for nearly 40 years.
Roger was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Tuscola, serving on various committees.
Rite of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 E. Northline Road, Tuscola, with the Rev. Jason Braaten officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscola Township Cemetery with military graveside rites accorded. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 S. Main St., Tuscola.
