RANTOUL - Ronnie J. Premo, 78, of Rantoul passed peacefully on Tuesday (June 6, 2023) at home.
Ronnie was born on Sept. 13, 1945, in Cass Lake, Minn., the son of Guy and Florence Premo.
After high school, Ronnie enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served four years at various bases around the world.
Ronnie would marry Jennifer J. Premo (Phipps) in 1965 and make his home in Rantoul while remaining happily married to the love of his life until her passing in September 2022. Together they raised two daughters, Tammy R. Moody (Premo) of Rantoul and Theresa E. Premo of Champaign.
He spent most of his adult life as an employee of Kraft Foods in Champaign for over 40 years. Ronnie was an avid dog lover and fan of fishing and his home state Minnesota Vikings.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dolly Dewitt and Patricia Harris; as well as his wife, Jennifer.
He leaves behind his two daughters; his grandchildren, Shawn Moody, Ashley Moody, Amber Moody, Chabrail Premo, Tavion Premo and Unique Evans; as well as five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul, at 2 p.m. Monday. Pastor Mark Wilkerson will officiate. He will be buried beside his wife, Jenni, at Elmwood Cemetery, Rantoul. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service, also at Lux Memorial Chapel.
