DANVILLE - Steve Harmeson, 70, of Danville passed away Friday (Oct. 11, 2024) at home with family at his side.
Steve was born Feb. 4, 1954, in Danville, to Charles E. Sr. and Charlotte (Cope) Harmeson. Steve married Donna (Bullington) on Feb. 21, 1976. Together, they have two children, Brande (Craig Barth) Winchester and Steven Tyler (Jessica Keleminic) Harmeson; and two grandchildren, Jordan and Kolin Winchester.
Steve leaves behind two sisters, Vickie (Don) Albright and Lisa (Dewey) McClain; one brother, Brian Harmeson; one brother-in-law, Tom Horton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by both parents, his sister Nancy Horton and brother Charles (Chuckie) Harmeson Jr.
Steve graduated from Oakwood in 1972. While attending school, he played football and baseball, wrestled, ran cross-country and played golf. Steve was a flooring installer for many years. Steve was an avid Bears, Cubs and Illini fan. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing golf and poker and traveling to casinos.
He was a fighter till the end. He worked hard, played hard and loved hard. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed!
A celebration of life will be held at Sarges Tap on Nov. 3 from noon to 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Vermilion County Handicap Association.

" Way Back " machine, as I first met Steve when we played, " Peanuts "
Football at Ellsworth Park.
Would run into him occasionally through the years, and he would always remember me !
Always a stand up guy !
