SIDNEY - Suzanne C. Ayers, 30, of Sidney passed away Friday (Sept. 22, 2023) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Visitation will be at Freese Funeral Home, Sidney, on Thursday, Sept. 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at First Christian Church, Champaign, on Friday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Lynn Grove Cemetery, south of Sidney.
Suzanne was born on June 24, 1993, in Woodbridge, Va., to Kevin and Laura Ayers.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gene and Juanita Ayers of Champaign and Ron and Dodie Meyer of Sidney, and several cousins.
Suzie is survived by her parents; sister, Holly Handley (Jonathan); nephews, Jace and Graham of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and brothers, Roger (Emily) nephew Maximilian of Bloomington and Jeffrey of Sidney.
Suzanne graduated from Mt. View High School in 2011 in Stafford, Va., and with honors from the University of Illinois in 2017 with a degree in history. Suzanne worked at Meyer Produce Farm for several years. She was employed as a greeter and then in the produce department at Walmart in Savoy. She described her position as a greeter on steroids!
Suzanne enjoyed baking, working outdoors, latch hook, watching anime, creating a Christmas village, decorating for the holidays and playing board games with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing with her two cats. Suzie was very bubbly, and her smile could light up the room.
Suzanne was a strong Christian and attended services at First Christian Church in Champaign. She was an active member of her Social Thinking group and the Mid-Central WCTU.

I'm so sorry that I did not get the opportunity to meet Susanne. She has to have been an outstanding young lady! I'm inspired to know that she had become a member of WCTU! Loosing Susanne is a great loss for us all who have been left behind. Praise God for His Promises!!

Kevin and Laura,
I have no words for the loss of sweet Suzie. I was a neighbor in Stafford on Leisure Street and remember how cute, funny and fast she was years ago. She loved being barefoot outdoors. What a beautiful smile she had. May our Lord give you peace during these difficult days. Sincere Condolences, Denise

You, Suzie, were bright star in this universe. So spunky! I loved that! Never a dull moment. Now, you are a bright star in heaven.
