DANVILLE - Timothy "Tim" Holden, 65, a Batestown local and lifelong resident of Danville, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
He was born Nov. 10, 1957, in Danville, the son of Lois and Thomas Holden Jr. They preceded him in death.
Tim graduated from Oakwood Township Schools and worked for many years at Tridan International before his eventual retirement. He had a passion for all things cars, reading newspapers and an interest in sports. He was a man of faith and a member of a non-denominational church. He enjoyed spending time with his fellow church members and was grateful for faithful ministers and friends.
He married his loving wife, Joy Pierson Holden, on July 3, 1986, in Jacksonville. They spent a wonderful 36 years together before his passing. She survives.
Also surviving are his sister, Tina Devine (Henry); his aunt, Phyllis Narehood; and numerous cousins.
A visitation for Tim will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville. A funeral service celebrating his life will take place at 9 a.m. the following day, Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, also at the funeral home. Ministers Kevin Naillieux and Kenion Coleman will be officiating the service. He will be laid to rest at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian.

I can't say anything that will ease the pain in your heart, but maybe knowing that your friends, near and far, are wanting you to know how you can remember Tim lovingly but love his God who will wake him one future day. Thinking of you with love in my heart!
