Virginia Rawdin Obituary

PHILO – Virginia Rawdin, 79, of Philo died on Aug. 21, 2008, at The Carle Arbours, Savoy.

Owens Funeral Home is assisting the family with private services.

Virgina was born on Dec. 28, 1928, in Bondville, a daughter of Joseph and Marie Ward Manion. She married Forrest E. "Junior" Rawdin on May 29, 1950, in Bloomington. He preceded her in death in October of 1998. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her.

Virginia is survived by her children, Forrest "Ed" Rawdin Jr. of Champaign, Kathy (Jeff) Hamilton of Oregon, Wis., and Jeff (Marguerite) Rawdin of Philo; her grandchildren, Rachel (Cody) Bainbridge of Texas, Lilly Rawdin (Tim Wood) of Texas, Carrie (Jeff) Marr of Arizona, Marcie (Andrew Smith) Hamilton of California, Daniel J. Hamilton of Montana, Jim Rawdin of Philo and Rob (Taryn) Rawdin of Philo; and five great-grandchildren.

Virginia was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a doting grandmother. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Philo Fire Department, 110 E. Washington, Philo, 61864.
