Charles Park Obituary

Services for Charles Jordan Park will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Charlie passed away suddenly at the age of 27 in San Diego, Calif., where he had resided for three years after moving from Seattle, Wash., where he had lived for one year.
Originally from Painesville Township, he was a 2003 graduate of Riverside High School and a 2007 graduate of Ohio University where he earned a bachelor of science in environmental health. While living in Seattle and San Diego he was employed by National Everclean Services conducting food safety audits in a total of 16 states and Canada. He always took photographs of his work travels and adventures to share with his family and friends.
Charlie enjoyed jogging, surfing, longboarding, listening to music, fishing, and spending time with his girlfriend, Amber.
Charlie touched the lives of so many people. He will be remembered for his ambition, sense of humor, perfect smile, crazy laugh, and the ability to make the best out of any situation. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Laurene Park; sister, Cory Park; Uncle Bill Papp (Marge); Aunt Linda Walentiny (Phil); Aunt Lil Trzop; many cousins; and his girlfriend, Amber Crisp.
Burial will take place in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.

7 years has come and went. Proof that with time you passing we havent forgot but its gotten easier. Still not one day passes that I dont think of you Char. I tell Eric and our daughter Rayla all about her uncle Charlie and what a amazing guy he was. He had a special light in his eyes and not a shy bone in his body. I can still see your smile and laugh the same laugh. Its difficult at times to experience all that I have without you in our world but I know that you would be happy. I love you.

Charlie-
Through all our crazy adventures, good times and bad - I wouldn't take back a minute of it. I wish for a million more... You always made me think and challenged me to step outside my comfort zone. Being around you always made my day. My heart is sad cause you are no longer here. And my mind still thinks about all the what ifs. But I'm still glad I knocked on your door. I miss you so much buddy.

I was so sorry and sad to hear of the passing of your son Charlie. He dated my daughter Brittany in the summer of 2002 and they went to Lake Catholic homecoming dance together that year. He was such a joy to be around. Fun, outgoing and very sweet and had the best smile!! I recently looked over those photos and said a prayer for your Family. God bless you all.

My brother and best friend. You lived the dream life. You saw more things and sites than I could ever imagine. All though you have left me behind, I know you will always be with me, watching over. You will always have the roll of my big brother. My heart will always be with you. Our favorite quote to each other was by Teddy Roosevelt. "Keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground." You will now be my stars. I love you Char and will miss you forever.

Charlie was the perfect example of a true gentleman. My whole family fell in love with him. I myself got to be pretty close to him and considered him a really good friend. He treated Amber so well and was perfect with my parents. I will cherish the time that I got to jog, daytrip in S.F. and mushroom hunt with Charlie. He set the bar very very high in what to look for in a great human being. He will totally be missed and never forgotten. My condolences to the Park family.

Charlie was a very loving young man with a heart of gold. He had many great qualities and was so personable that adults, children and pets gravitated towards him. A super active guy, always on the move. He loved his family, friends, pets and cars, but drove fast and furious. He enjoyed his travel adventures and always kept his friends and family included by sharing his locations with photos and frequent telephone calls. He especially loved sunsets. He was a wonderful son, brother, friend and boyfriend and will be missed so much.

Charlie worked at Everclean services for many years. We are deeply shocked and saddened by his passing. Charlie brought so much energy, enthusiasm, personality, generosity and passion to his work. He was someone we all connected with. We'll always remember the “Charlie” pictures he would send us from his work trips to highlight where he was; Charlie would always find something interesting to capture. He was a dear friend to many of us and we will miss him and his contribution to our company.

My heart broke when I heard the news - another life taken far too soon. It's been years, but I can remember going over to the Park's house to play with Cory in elementary school and spending bits and pieces of time with Charlie as we grew up. In my memory he had such a sweet personality and was always smiling or laughing. Cory and Mr. and Mrs. Park, my heart goes out to you all. I know words don't do much, but know that I am thinking of you and sending healing thoughts your way.

Charlie and I were Brothers as far as I'm concerned. He represents the old saying, "Nothing is impossible". Needless to say, I never thought I'd be writing about him like this, so he's done it again. He was really smart, confident, and strong-all qualities I admired in him as a friend. When I think of Charlie I think of two things- his awesome care-free laugh and smile and his stampeding frustration when things weren't perfect. He always wanted to make things right. I have always prayed for my family, but I forget to pray for my friends. Pray for Charlie and his family and also those who are closest to you now that they are safe and healthy in all they do. I feel like I have been thrown in the ocean, out of breath and freezing, but I can't give up. I need to keep swimming and working hard to get to shore. Charlie, I'll see you when I make it there.

Charlie had an amazing drive and passion to live life to the fullest. He had the most innovative and creative ideas and his motivation was inspirational to all. I will forever remember his contagious laugh and the happiness he spread to all lives he touched. My condolences go out the the Park Family - this is a family who was always welcoming to all of Charlie's friends. I met Charlie Summer of 1999 and will always have the fondest memories. This is much too soon to have to say goodbye - so happy to know Charlie got to experience so many places and adventures!
