My condolences to the family
Sophia Byrnes
September 23, 2025
Hi Grandfather,
Yes, i'm fully aware this is the third one i've sent this year, I just can't help myself. Every minute, hour, day, month, year I think about you. Just as I was saying in April, the way you used to crack up jokes, laugh, sing to songs, mixed me and my mother up, it all meant so much to me. It felt like my heart had been touched by your loving words, laughs, and love. I miss you so much, and I'm upset I couldn't spend much longer with you. When you first passed, I didn't understand as much as I do now. I thought you were just in a deep sleep - but once I found out you actually had been out of pain I felt a wave of guilt, sadness, and grief. All those times we went to your house, did the golf cart, celebrated holidays, had family gatherings, every.single.minute, I loved it. I know, I didn't show much love then, I didn't understand the real meaning behind love, I didn't know that love, is such an important thing in a child's life. Even in teens, adults, grandparents, every person deserves to feel loved. Including you, words can't describe how much I love you, and words can't describe how much I miss you. All I know, is your out of pain, happy, and free. Now you can fish, go to Sanibel, and have as much freedom as you want in Heaven. All of us miss you, Giavanna, Nichole, Marc, Lisanne, Jeffery, Nina, Mary Jo, Diana, Vince, your 8 grand children, and you 8 great grandchildren and your beloved dog, taz. We all hold a special place in our heart for you. We all remember all the magic tricks you did, all the ways you made jokes, your laughing, your smile, we all miss it. I hope to see you in Heaven one day, I love you.
Your granddaughter, Sophia Byrnes (aka Pirate <3)

I miss you SO much Grandpa, I miss the way you used to laugh and crack up jokes for me and my family, I miss the way you mixed me and my mom up, I miss the enjoyable moments with us, fishing, Sanibel, everything. I wish you didn't have to go so soon, I wish I could've stayed with you until your last breath, I wish I was there for you more, there's a hundred flaws and reasons I wish I did something with you more but there's only one thing that counts, I spent as much as my time with you and enjoyed the moments with you. Sure there was sometimes I might have been rude or not being kind but deep inside I loved you with all my heart. I wish you good luck in heaven and I hope when I get In heaven that we can meet again. With love, your granddaughter, Sophia Byrnes

I worked with Dave several years in Euclid. A really great person. Always known for an interesting comment or angle on any given case, but was never swayed by the political, social or media influences that could be potentially be involved therein. The bottom line for him was to ignore all those potential pitfalls and be guided only by the desire to do the right thing in any case he handled. In that respect he clearly succeeded every time. He will be greatly missed.

What a man, had him represent me, and found him to be a class act. Wonderful sense of humor, and loved to listen to his stories. God Bless him and his family who was so fortunate to have this man in your life rememer all the good times.

Nina, I can only offer my most sincere condolences for the loss of your father. I wish I could tell you the pain goes away, but I find that memories replace most of the pain and sorrow. I am certain that he is with God and is smiling at what you have accomplished in your life. My prayers are with you and your family.
