Dorothea Kolencik Obituary

Dorothea M. (Sichko) Kolencik, 78, of Willoughby for the past five years, passed away Sept. 6, 2011, at Breckenridge Nursing Home in Willoughby.
Dorothea, formerly of Wickliffe, was born May 12, 1933, in Footedale, Penn.
Dorothy was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel since 1960, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary and the Altar Rosary Guild. She also belonged to the S.N.P.J. Dorothy loved family traditions and her strong Catholic faith was evident in much that she did. She was well organized and had a great entrepreneurial spirit that, combined with a sense of fairness, made her a faithful, loving matriarch of the family. Dorothy was a big sports fan, especially of the Indians and the Browns, and she loved traveling to Europe and Hawaii.
Dorothy was retired as a Deputy Registrar with the Wickliffe License Bureau.
She is survived by sons, Ronald (Jeanne) of Chardon, Richard of Katy, Tex., and Gary (Patricia) of Willoughby; daughters, Diane (James) Tomsick of Willowick, and Lynn (John) Mossner of Frankenmuth, Mich.; grandchildren Tiffany, Tracey, Jillian, Laura, Marissa, Tara, Rachel, and Alex Kolencik, Jennifer (Matthew) Greig, Nicole (fiancé Jeremy Calhoun) Tomsick, Jessica, Madison, Torilyn, and Jonathan Mossner. She also is survived by brothers, Michael (Dolly) Sichko of Minn., Joseph (Kathleen) Sichko of Highland Heights, and Francis (Susann) Sichko of Pa.; sister, Marie (George) DeBrody of Wickliffe. She was the dearest sister-in-law of Marie Sichko and Margaret (George) Dikun; dear aunt, great-aunt, and godmother of many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Augustine A. "Augie"; and brothers, John (Ann, deceased), Peter, George (Wilhelmina, deceased), and William Sichko.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1730 Mt. Carmel Drive, Wickliffe. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.
The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Dorothy from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9 at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road and Route 91).
The family suggests contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to Breckenridge Village Life Care Fund, 36859 Ridge Road, Willoughby, OH 44094.
