Erica McSween Obituary
She was born Sept. 4, 1984, in Cleveland, the daughter of Richard and Annie (Balsitis) McSween.
A lifelong Mentor resident, she graduated from Mentor High School in 2002. She loved her family and was a dedicated and loyal friend to many.
She is survived by her brother, Justin (Erin) McSween; father, Richard (Marylin) McSween; nephew, Cody James McSween; grandparents, Dorothy Balsitis and Gary and Joan McSween; fiance, Tim Pachay; and her dog, "Boomer."
She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie who died Nov. 26, 2010; and grandfather, Earl Balsitis.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake. Her memorial service will also be held 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

I did not know Erica personally, but there is a connection to her and her fiance. I have been deeply touched by her passing, cried tears for her and family and friends. Each day is a gift from God, and I pray all with be strengthened to go forth and make the best of every day that we have. With God's help the things that hold us back can be broken so that we can make a difference in others lives. What a tribute to Erica's life that would be!! God's peace to all of you. To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there are no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, you'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they’re bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you, all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Erica, truly loved and enjoyed our friendship growing up in the Headlands. I regret that we didn't remain as close as we once were when we were teenagers, I have always thought about you over the years. I hope that you are resting peacefully. You are a beautiful person I love and miss you.

To the family of Annie and Erica: I had the pleasure of having Erica in my cosmetology Class @ Brush High school. When I heard of the devasting news of her mother my prayers went up and the family weighed heavy on my mind. Then when I heard that we had lost erica also, I cried and continued praying. We may never know why things like this happen. May God give you all comfort and peace at some point in your lives. Ms. Zimm

When I found Erica as a hairdresser little did I know I had also found a friend. Your stregnth and courage throughout the last year have been an inspiration to me. You will be greatly missed. My sincere sympathies to the family and your fiance who you loved so much.

I didnt know your mom but her tragic death really touched my heart. then to hear two months later that your sister Erica had died just broke my heart even more. I dont know any of you, but Bryan Mayhle has told us so much about you all (the 4 years that he has lived here) that I feel like I know how great of a family you all are.
So I am truly and deeply sorry for the Lost of your mom and your sister. I will keep you in our prayers, and Pray that God will surround you with his loving arms and hold you tight during this sorrowful time in your life.

So saddened to hear this, Erica was a beautiful person, so hard to lose someone at such a young age .I didn't know her all to well we had mutual friends but she was nice to talk to .
