It was December and we were to celebrate our 25 anniversary. I asked for 2 personal days. He gave them to me, but a snow storm held us up 2 days. I needed 2 more which I didn't have and he just smiled and told me 25 years...you earned them!

My condolences to Joe's family. Joe and I went through school together in Warrensville (elementary - HS). The last time we saw each other was in 2016 at the 50th reunion.

My deepest sympathies to the Regano Family.
I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work for Joe Regano in the Solon Schools. During my nine years in the district, I found this man to be kind, caring, easy to approach and a great listener. After opening the "Cafe De Solon" at the high school, Joe was a frequent visitor, often ordering a bagel and always encouraging the students to keep up the good work. Over the years, no matter what challenges came up, be it work related or personal, we could always call on Joe. In spite of his demands as superintendent, Joe made it clear that he genuinely wanted to help. I always left his office feeling better than when I arrived. Joe was professional, intentional and one of the best. He will be greatly missed. Thank you Joe for making such a difference for so many.
God Bless

Joe Regano was dedicated to the success and well-being of each student in the Solon Schools. As a kindergarten teacher at Arthur Road in the 90's, when Administration was also housed there, Joe could often be seen in the halls saying hi to the children. He would stand and smile and let us talk to him as our lines would pass by going to Art or Gym. Joe took time to encourage and listen to us as a faculty. He always had an open door even after a long day of meetings. Joe made a positive impact with his friendliness and elegant style of management. He was a true leader. I'm grateful to have taught in the Solon Schools during his tenure.

Over my 37 years of teaching you run across people who make you not only a better teacher, but also a better person. Joe Regano was that role model. I met Joe back when he walked on field as my team warmed up for a baseball game. He introduced himself and welcomed our Mayfield team to Euclid. That started a friendship that continued as I moved to Solon and began my 26 year run for the Solon Schools. During that time he gave me advice, taught me how important it was to be a leader and showed me that even when things get tough to handle it with class. You knew if he was always true to his word. He always had time to see you no matter how busy he was and continued to be a great friend to our Solon teachers. He will sorely be missed. Rest in Peace!

Mr. Joe Regano. I am so happy that I had the pleasure and opportunity to work in Solon Schools with such a fine and dedicated and professional as Joe. What a leader. Joe was a problem solver, known state wide as a leader. The Solon Community will certainly miss him. He always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone no matter what their pay rank or status was. I never heard one person say anything bad about him. On a personal note, when I had kidney cancer in 1992, Joe called many times to see how I was doing and how my recovery was going. Not once did he ever push me to decide if I was able to return to teaching, it was always how are you and is there anything I can do to help? With his support I was able to recover and still function today. What a man. I am so proud to have worked for such a wonderful man. The angels have received a great one today. Rest in peace Joe, a job well done.

Jared I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of a parent is so difficult...you are never ready no matter how old you are. I believe your Father was so proud of you and the man you have become...husband & Dad. I know your Dad is in such a beautiful & glorious place, pain-free and at peace resting in the loving arms of Jesus. May your memories and the love of friends comfort you during this time. As a teacher in the Solon schools for 35 years and as President of the Solon Education Association for 8 years there are few people, if any, I grew to respect and admire more than Joe Regano. The times he helped out staff members both personally and professionally are too numerous to mention. He was the steady hand for our school system through the challenging times and the "captain of the ship" behind the scenes as he selflessly guided our schools to unparalleled success throughout the years. Thank you, Joe, for all you did for the staff and students of Solon. You will truly be missed.
