Josephine Pifko Harkey

Josephine (Pifko) Harkey, 89, of Wickliffe, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at The Fairways in Wickliffe.
She was a homemaker in Wickliffe for 53 years, a devoted member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars 3863, a member of the Military Order of the Cootie and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
She was born in Uniontown, Pa., the youngest daughter nicknamed "Beeba" by parents Ludwik (Louis) and Margarete (Skripecz) Pifko of Galicia, Poland.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, John R.; sisters, Elizabeth Danko, Anna Duboy, Rose Pifko; and brother, Walter Pifko.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Richard (Pamela) of Sandy, Utah, Mark (Carolann) of Euclid, John of Kirtland; daughter, Kimberly Jo (Matthew) Oddis of Mentor; grandchildren, Sheri, Richard, Kristen, Laura, Collin, Adam, Rachel, Jordan and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Madison, Maxwell, and Miles; and many nieces and nephews.
Jo was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother, and proud great-grandmother. She always had a smile, a spirited and positive outlook. She left a gift of many happy memories of a wonderful life together for her family to cherish, and peace in the knowledge that she passed from this life fulfilled by their love.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Orlando-Donsante Funeral Home, 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
