Lamont H. Munson

1929 - 2011

Lamont H. Munson, 82, of Mentor for the past 37 years, died June 4, 2011, at Hospice of the Western Reserve, Cleveland.
Lamont was born May 7, 1929, in Cleveland, and grew up on the east side of Cleveland.
He was married for 60 years and raised his family on East 266th Street in Euclid. As a young man he raced hydro boats, and enjoyed fishing with his many extended family members and close cousin, Bob Wagner, and Uncle Lou Wagner.
He attended Collinwood High School and graduated with the January Class of 1948 with a career interest in tool and die making.
He worked at Lincoln Electric for 45 years, retiring in 1993. During the course of his career at Lincoln, he progressed from tool and die maker apprentice to foreman of the tool and die department, and finally manager of quality control.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gloria (Credico) Munson; sons, Bruce Munson of Painesville, Barry (Annette Cassady) Munson of Burton Township, Brian Munson of Painesville; grandchildren, Shelly (Michael) McNulty, of Baltimore, Ohio, Benjamin (fiancee, Kate Taylor) Munson of Chardon; and great-grandchildren; Kylar Munson, Rowan McNulty and Logan McNulty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Munson and Ruby (Wagner) Munson; and sister, Ruby Lillian Munson.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave. Mentor. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
