Lloyd Morse

1920 - 2011

Lloyd Morse, age 90, of Arcadia, Fla., died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, in his home.
He was born Oct. 18, 1920, in Elyria, and lived in Wickliffe for 28 years before moving to Florida where he spent the last 30 years.
Lloyd served in the Navy from May 1942 to December 1945. He graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1949 and began his career as a teacher, coach and administrator at LaGrange High School.
Mr. Morse moved to Wickliffe in 1952, where he served as head basketball coach, principal and assistant superintendent. He retired in November 1980.
Lloyd has two deceased brothers, Earl and Levi; and a deceased sister, Hattie.
He has one living sister, Edna, who is 97 years old, and living in Hudson, Fla., with her daughter, Pam, and son, Ron.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty. They have three sons, Douglas (Joyce) of Houston, Texas, Dennis (Verna-deceased) of Denver, Colo., and Dale (Janet) who recently moved from Wickliffe, to the The Villages, Fla. He also has five grandsons, Scott (Joni) of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Danen (Hillori) also of Highlands Ranch, Adam of Denver, Colo., Jeff (Rachel) of University Heights, Ohio, and Dean (Amy) of Medina. In addition, they have two granddaughters, Alanna (Chris) of Littleton, Colo. and Alyssa (Michael) of Denver. Six great-grandchildren complete the family, Audrie, Bailey, Cameron, Donovan, Cayden and Dylan.

A service will be held at the Cleveland United Methodist Church in Cleveland, Fla., on Sunday, January 30, at 1 p.m., followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
A memorial service in Wickliffe, Ohio, will be held at a later date in early May.
