Dear Joe, Mary Jo, Joey, Katie and family,

As we reminisce about the past year, we remember your sweet family and still keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Our hearts still ache here at the SCC, and Mary will always have a special, one of a kind place in our hearts. We are blessed to be able to laugh at her funny, carefree look at life and stress, knowing she knew what was important. She always made each of us feel special and we hope you know you are all special to us. May you be comforted and encouraged knowing you are not alone.

God bless and comfort,

The Geauga SCC girls

Dear Mary Ellen,

This is the first Christmas for our family without you. As our organizer and gathering agent, you always made sure this family was together at special times and particularly at holiday time. We will miss your presence and it will be difficult, but we all know in our hearts that no matter where we are, you will be with us. Our love, prayers and thoughts are always with you.

With all our love,
Dad and Mary Ann
Your entire Blaha/Giel family, extended relatives and many friends.

For several years the Blaha and Giel men came to the Riverland Camp and Outfitters in Madawaska, Ontario, Canada, bear hunting. I was lucky enough to meet Mary a couple of times when she came up to the bear camp. What a wonderful, friendly lady she was! She will be greatly missed by the Giel and Blaha families and everyone that knew her. My deepest sympathy to both families.

Mary was and will always be one of the sweetest people I have ever known. We shared a love of nursing and being Moms and riding with our arms wrapped around our husbands. I miss her already and that beautiful smile and know she lives on thru her children and good lessons she taught all of us that were lucky to be close to her. Bless your family...my heart and prayers are with you!

To all who knew and loved Mary. We all have experienced a gift from God to have shared any time in our lives with this wonderful lady. I thank the Lord that she was there for us. Now may God send his comfort to those who loved her. God bless you Angel. Love Pat and Jack Luck

I am so sorry to hear of Mary Ellen's passing. I was a student at St. Helen's school when Mary was. She was a couple grades ahead of me, but I remember her being very nice. Her brother Mark was in my grade, and Matt was in the same grade as my sister Maureen at St. Helen's. I lost my little sister Patty unexpectantly a year and a half ago, and I truly do understand the sadness that everyone is going through. Lean on family and friends to continue to give you strength through this very difficult time.

Deepest sympathy for the loss of this sweet angel. I have lived next door to the Blaha's my whole life and grew up with Joey & Katie in my teens. They have always been considered a second family to me. Mary treated me like I was one of her own, dinner at their place a few times a week, movie nights in the basement. I am going to miss her so much - I will never forget the love and happiness she spread everywhere. She was the most incredible woman to walk this planet.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. Here is a comforting word from God, "Come to me, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and I will refresh you." (Matt 11:28) A thought for The Blaha Family.

Mary hired me in 2008 during her time as manager of Orthopedics at Geauga Hospital. When I met her, I instantly knew she was a sweet lady with a kind heart, who was very easy to talk to. She was taken too soon and will be greatly missed. I will keep her family, friends, and coworkers in my thoughts and prayers.
