Michael Paul Sullivan

1950 - 2014

Funeral Mass for Michael Paul Sullivan, 63, of Painesville Township and formerly of Fairport Harbor, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 521 Plum St., Fairport Harbor. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Michael was born March 31, 1950, in Willoughby, and passed away Feb. 11, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He worked at the Lake County Utility Department for 27 years. During that time, he had donated many hundreds of hours of vacation time to people who were in need of extra time to have surgery or to heal. He was always there for everyone.
Michael will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, as well as being a huge animal lover. He loved all animals but gravitated towards strays and homeless dogs from shelters. He will also be remembered for his deep faith that carried him through some very tough times in his life. Even in death, Michael's legacy lives on with his Gift of Sight through eye donation.
Survivors are his loving wife, Pamela (Nygord), whom he married March 28, 1987; brother, Robert (Sue) Sullivan; and sister, Mary Beth (Mike) Jackson, both of North Carolina; brother- and sister-in-law, Glenn and Laura Nygord of Leroy; sisters-in-law, Candy (Paul) LaPlante of Ashtabula and Pennie (Eric) Dunlap of Texas; uncle, John (Geri) Lueders; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Marion (Lueders); and brother, Jim (Irene).
