Robert "Bob" Stojetz

1940 - 2019

Robert "Bob" Stojetz passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, doing what he loved to do most, travel. Born February 11, 1940, Bob graduated from Euclid High School in 1958, where he was senior class president. He received his B.S. in Education from Ohio University in 1962. He was president of the National Alumni Board and later served on the Ohio Universities National Alumni Board. He received his M.A. of Education from John Carroll University in 1968. He went on to be Principal of Willoughby Junior High School for 12 years. He then served as the Assistant Superintendent of Willoughby Eastlake City Schools for six years and finished his professional career as Director of East Shore Center in 1996. Later, he served as the Director of Special Education in the Painesville City School District for 3 ½ years. He was twice honored by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation for Exemplary Administrative Leadership. He was, also, the Director of the Lake County United Way Education Advisory Board for many years and a member of the Lakeland Community College Education Advisory Board.After retirement, he and his wife, Linda, traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. He enjoyed his grandchildren, golf, reading, and summers at their cottage in upstate New York, “The Seascape.” Bob was the beloved husband of the late Linda (Bernardic) Stojetz, whom were married for 54 years; loving father of MaryBeth Frayne, (Rod Willard - fiance), Kevin Stojetz, Aimee (Stojetz) Galloway (Mike Galloway), Shelley (Stojetz) Callahan (John Callahan, Sr.), and Scott Stojetz (Jamie Stojetz). Grandfather to Hunter Frayne, Grant Frayne, Molly Stojetz, Shelli Stojetz, Nic Stojetz, Brendan Galloway, Maggie Galloway, John Callahan, Jr., Kevin Callahan, Mackenzie Stojetz, Seth Stojetz, Greyson Stojetz, and Jace Stojetz. Brother of Sharon Sedmak; son of the late Joseph and Julia Stojetz. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Chardon Catholic Church, 401 North Street, Chardon, OH 44024, followed by a luncheon at Fowler’s Mill Golf Course, 13095 Rockhaven Road, Chesterland, OH 44026.
