1923 - 2012

Funeral Mass for Rudolph Lustik Jr., 89, of Mentor, will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor.
Rudy died peacefully Nov. 19, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 25, 1923, in Scenery Hill, Pa.
He worked for Atlas Glass Company in Washington, Pa., before moving to Mentor, retiring from Oster Manufacturing Co., in Wickliffe, where he worked as a machinist.
Rudy was a decorated, four Bronze Star World War II veteran of the U.S. Army serving at the invasion of Normandy, Central France and in Germany. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, who loved working in his yard and garden. He enjoyed Polkas and Big Band music and danced every Saturday night at Painesville Township Park.
He was a founding member of St. John Vianney Church, where he was active on committees through the years and a faithful usher at the 9 a.m. Mass every Sunday.
Survivors are his wife, Judith (Ryan); daughters, Sandee (Gene) Collins of Concord Township and Stephanie (Jason) Kristo of Mentor; brother, Louis Lustik; nephew, Ronald (Beverly) Lewis of Washington, Pa.; sister, Margaret Richmond of Florida; grandchildren, Patrick Donald, Morgan Elizabeth and Bridget Evelyn Kristo of Mentor.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty (Kurtz); parents, Stephanna (Galanco) and Rudolph; brother, John; and sisters, Helen Lewis, Irene Beltowski, and Evelyn and Frances Lustik.
Rudy spent the last few years going to the Senior Independence Adult Day Care Center in Painesville, where he met many new friends and received loving care. The family wishes to thank the staff there for the wonderful personal care Rudy received.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
