Claudine Landry Obituary

Claudine J. Landry, of Edgewater, formerly of France where she was born and raised, passed away quietly on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Her family provided love and support through many
health struggles over the past year and after a valiant fight, she went "home" to be with her Lord and Savior, with her loving companion, David by her side. After moving from France, she eventually came to this area in 1978 and as a realtor and broker, enjoyed being property manager for 24 years at The Inlet Condo in New Smyrna Beach, where she had many friends. Ms. Landry loved to cook, spending time with her family, and her pet birds and dogs, especially her dogs, Cloe and Wallie. Survivors include her companion, David L. Dexter, Sr.; two daughters, Nathalie (Robert) Rowlette of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Pascale (Ronald) Edwards of Daytona Beach; four grandchildren, Brittany, Hannah, Hunter, and Madison, all of Fredericksburg; three sisters, Francoise, Annette, and Sylvie, all of France; and special friends, Alice Garzia, Jean Mangini, David L. Dexter, Jr., and Kristen Wilson. Ms. Landry was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Bressot Genest, and her brother, Jean-Claude. A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach chapel with Pastor Judson Douglass officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be from 12:00 noon until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ms. Landry's name to Southeast Volusia Humane Society, 1200 S. Glencoe Road, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168. Kathy and I both offer our sincere condolences and prayers David, Natalie, Pascale and your families during this difficult and painful time. Claudine was a good friend and always spoke proudly and highly of her family that she loved so much as well as her pups. She was a very hard worker and fighter it is so sad that her little body had to endure far too much over the past several years. Having Christ in her life, we still here can have peace in knowing that she is now again whole and healthy in the presence of Jesus as well as those who had gone before her in faith. One day we will again be able to enjoy time and laughter with her.

I learned the death of my aunt with many sadness. She was for me a vigourous person and always cheerful. I didn't speak enough with her because she lived far away from France. She will stay in my mind as someone with the american optimism and her frenchy sense of humor. My thoughts go to her two daughters, her family and close friends.

All our sincere condolences for all her family as well as to David, her friend. Claudine was an audacious, generous, cheerful sister. It was proved all these last years when she was so sick. She left too much early. I do not find words to express all my pain. Claudine you are going to miss me a lot but you will always have a big place in my heart. Rest in peace supporting my Claudine.

Elle nous 'a prouvé toutes ces dernières années lorsqu'elle a été si malade. Elle est partie trop tôt. Je ne trouve pas les mots pour exprimer toute ma douleur. Dearest Family:

Was so sad to hear this - I knew Claudine in business when she managed the building my office was in and also as a neighbor she was a wonderful person. I remember always seeing her drive by with her dogs in her car or out walking them. RIP Claudine
