Dorothy A. Bowman

Funeral service for Dorothy A. Bowman, 88, Emory Drive, Daytona Beach, who died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, at Dale Woodward Funeral Home, 167 Ridgewood Ave., Holly Hill, with the Rev. Jim Shoosman officiating. Entombment will follow at Shady Rest Cemetery. Friends may call and pay their respects Sunday, Aug. 28, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Bowman was born in Goldsboro, N.C., and moved to this area in 1970 from South Bend, Ind., and was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Indigo Community Church and a member of the Forget Me Not Garden Club. Mrs. Bowman enjoyed raising African Violets, quilting, sewing, cooking and crocheting. She had crocheted over 1,600 pairs of slippers for the D.A.V. Mrs. Bowman was predeceased by her husband, Emery Bowman, in 2003. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Regan, Palm Harbor; son, John Bowman, Jacksonville; brother, George Dallas, Daytona Beach; and five grandchildren.
