Edward Gantt Obituary

Edward W. Gantt, Jr., 77, passed away in the early morning of Sunday, May 17, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Daytona Beach, Florida on August 15, 1937. He was a loving husband, father, friend and mentor to many. He was pre-deceased by his Father, Walter E. Gantt; Mother, Hattie T. Gantt; and StepMother Vivian Gantt. He attended Campbell High School in Daytona Beach and graduated from Corpus Christi High School in Chicago, Illinois, then attended over the course of his life, BCU. He played semi-pro baseball, worked as a taxi driver, hotel maintenance man, delivery person for a gas company and a softball umpire. He also loved working with children as a little league coach. He was a big sports fan and especially loved the Florida Gators, Miami Dolphins and the Orlando Magic. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Jacqueline of 59 years and his son Edward Gantt III. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 23rd at the Basilica of St. Paul Catholic Church, Daytona Beach, 317 Mullally St., Daytona Beach. There will be a viewing at 10am; the service will start at 11am. Ed's final resting-place will be in Miami, Florida.
