John Bollman Obituary

John Adam "JB" Bollman III, 64, long-term resident of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Orlando, FL and Hana-pepe, HI died August 1, 2015 peacefully at his home in New Smyrna Beach following a courageous battle against cancer. He was born in Camp Hill, PA to John A. and Regina (nee Czajkowski) Bollman and moved to Orlando at the age of 4. John attended Bishop Moore and Edgewater High Schools and graduated with the first graduating class of Florida Technical University (now University of Central Florida) earning a degree in Biology. JB loved the outdoors, nature conservation, and observing the birds and wildlife from both of his riverfront homes. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed world travels with his friends. JB's passions included surfing and both offshore and fresh-water fishing in Florida and Hawaii, and hunting adventures in Oklahoma, Texas and South Dakota. He was a great champion of the Indian River and his beloved Mosquito Lagoon and fought for their health. JB had a passion for playing his ukulele and saxophone, sponsoring racing teams at the New Smyrna Beach Speedway and was a member of the New Smyrna Beach Surfari Club and Nawiliwili Yacht Club. He successfully founded and operated JB's Fish Camp in New Smyrna Beach, a recreation of his boyhood fish camp memories in Brevard County, for over 30 years. He will be remembered for his big heart, great storytelling, inviting smile, infectious laugh, inventive cooking and sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. JB leaves behind many, many friends, work family, and his hunting dog pal, Hula Girl. He is survived by several cousins Michelle (Bill) Farmer of Palatine, IL, Katherine (Tom) Prokop of Hollidaysburg, PA, Neil Donnelly of Vero Beach, FL, Michael Donnelly of Exeter, PA, and Gena (Donald) Marra of Dobbs Ferry, NY, and a godson, Lee Ohlin of New Smyrna Beach. An open gathering of family and friends to celebrate JB's life will take place beginning at 10:00 am, Monday, August 17 at JB's Fish Camp in New Smyrna Beach. Please see the Fishcamp Facebook page for upcoming details on a Paddle Out that will take place before the Celebration of Life begins. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the SE Volusia County Humane Society. A memorial service will be held in Hanapepe, HI at a later date. Aloha my friend. We sure had some good times together.since we first met at FTU in '71. Going on safari to Barbados, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Costa Rica, Hawaii, and up the East Coast. Vacationing with you was always a big adventure. The world is a lot less interesting without you in it. Love & miss you already. Happy trails!

We've lost a rare human friend. A true Flodida Waterman. An animal lover, dogs in particular. A real Motorsports enthusiast John could pick the winners and did, he was no stranger at any track. Travel and fun, a joy of discovery, music( Jimi loud), Florida history, an always smiling questioning of authority( usually correct) and never forget to BLOW IT UP!!! This is JB. Eating a dozen for you BRO, Chapman
