Joseph Burgett Obituary
Passed away unexpectedly on December 9th at age 61.
Celebration of life will be held at the Burgett home on Thursday, December 17th from 3-9pm. Please contact family for address.
Joe is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Burgett, and 3 sons, JJ, Kiel (Jessica), Brandon (Ashlie). A proud grandpa to Addison and Cohen. He is survived by his brother David Burgett (Bea), and preceded in death by brother, Mike Burgett.
Joe was born to the late Rita and Elmer Burgett in Ann Arbor, MI on March 12, 1959. He graduated from Pioneer High School in 1977. Joe and Brenda were married in 1979 and moved to Port Orange, FL in 1982 where they raised their three sons. Joe owned and operated Lacey's Screen Printing from 1982 to present, serving the community he loved. He coached for Pop Warner Football 1994-1997, and became a defensive coordinator at Warner Christian Academy where his sons all attended and played football under him from 1998-2006.
Joe (Cap'n) loved road trips and cruises with his wife, family, and friends. He appreciated a never-ending cup of coffee and weekend getaways with Brenda to play slots. Joe was a huge fan of University of Michigan Football, the Detroit Lions, and the Red Wings. He enjoyed all genres of music, especially listening to it live. Easy going and approachable, it is no surprise that Joe frequently made new and lasting friendships. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I worked with Joseph at Bill Knapp's. He was such a great guy and ahead of his time. We graduated the same year and so sad about his passing. Hope his family is doing well

It is so hard to call him Joe because growing up together in Ann Arbor, Michigan with our families so close he was always Joey to me. Not only were our parents close friends but we went to church together and lived in the same general neighborhood. The 3 Burgett boys and 3 Shepherd girls felt like brothers and sisters. Joe was closest to my youngest sister but David, my heart aches for your loss and that of Joe's family. My prayers are for all of you.

I knew the Burgett's when I lived down the street from them in an Ann Arbor his middle brother Mike and I were in the same class in H/S and my older brother was in the same class of his older brother David .The Burgett brothers were great group of people be around .
