Joseph Gonzalez Obituary

Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Joseph A. Gonzalez, 66, Bunnell, who died June 9, 2009 at Grand Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center, will be Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors. Those who wish may visit Monday, June 15, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Clymer Funeral Home in Bunnell, FL. Joseph was born in Camden, New Jersey and moved to this area 30 years ago from Camden County, New Jersey. Joseph worked as a driver for Rinker Materials. He was the past President of the Garden State Midget Football League, and was a football coach for the Barrington Colts and the Bellmawr Purple Eagles. Joseph was a Charter Member of the Flagler County Youth Athletic Association. He was Past President on the FCYAA. He coached football, baseball and basketball for the FCYAA. He also coached American Legion Baseball and was a coach for the Satsuma Little League. Joseph served as an officer at the David Browning RR Museum in Palatka. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Joseph enjoyed sports and trains. Joseph is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dolores; son, Joseph Gonzalez and his wife, Angela, Palm Coast; daughter, Jo-Anne Gonzalez, Bunnell; sister, Kathryn Hesser, Cherry Hill, New Jersey; grandchildren, Gabriel and Alexa; four aunts; and three nieces. Donations may be made in Joseph's name to: Flagler County Parks and Recreations Department, 1769 East Moody Blvd., Building 5, Bunnell, FL 32110. The family of Mr. Gonzalez entrusted the arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.

Aunt Lori, JoAnne, Joseph and Angie....I will truly miss Uncle Joe...I will always have fond memories in my heart of him and how much he loved all of us unconditionally...nothing was ever too much...he could always finagle a way to help out or get something done or be there.
