Joseph Kish Obituary

Joseph "Joe Bachi" Kish, 76, of St Petersburg passed away March 6, 2015 at St Anthony's Hospital after losing his battle with Leukemia. Born in Hungary, Joe escaped the Hungarian revolution and immigrated to America in the late 1950's. He lived in New Jersey where he put himself through night school to learn English, and to eventually graduate with a degree in Engineering. Joe moved to Goldsboro, North Carolina where he worked as an Engineer and grew to become a Manager in the company. Finally, Joe moved to Florida to pursue his dream of being an entrepreneur and began purchasing, developing, managing and selling properties. He lived the American dream that he believed was only possible in our country, becoming everything he wanted to be with sheer grit, dedication and hard work. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Ferenc and Irma and his brother Frank. Joe is survived by his son Joey, daughter Pamela, son in law John, and grandchildren Mitchell, Victoria, Steven in the United States, as well as sisters, Anna and Irma and their families in Hungary. Joe Bachi, or Big Joe in Hungarian, embraced a joyous life. He loved to dance, fish, be surrounded by friends and family, he loved to travel and meet people of different cultures in different places. Joe was kind hearted and gracious and will be remembered for the hope, love and drive that he instilled in everyone who knew him. Joe will have a private scattering of his ashes by family as well as a memorial service in Daytona Beach, FL by his Hungarian congregation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Canterbury School of Florida at 990 62nd Ave NE, St Petersburg, FL 33702 or online at: https://www.canterburyflorida.org/page.cfm?p=853&LockSSL=true
