Joseph Pirri Obituary

Funeral service for Joseph J. "Slim" Pirri, age 66, of New Smyrna Beach, who died Friday, February 13 at his home, will be 11:30 a.m.Wednesday, February 18 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach Chapel. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Born in Bristol, Rhode Island, Mr. Pirri moved to this area in 2004 from Swansea, Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a self-employed truck driver who enjoyed motorcycles, antique vehicles, and restoring cars. Mr. Pirri loved NASCAR and hanging out with his friends. Joe says "Thanks Doc" to Dr. Dodd and ALL the nurses. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Gail; a son, Joseph Pirri and his wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Brianna and Anthony, all of Concord, North Carolina; a step-son, Eric Stromberg and his wife, Francine, and their two children, Ryan and Michael, all of Hamilton, New Jersey; one brother, Angelo and his wife, Dawn; four nieces, Caroline, Sarah, Abby and Gracie, all of Fairfield, Maine. To: Joseph Jerome III---I was sorry to learn of your loss. Your Uncle James and I were in Florida at the time and Uncle James went to RI last week and heard the news. I am still in Florida in Boynton Beach. Even though we have not heard from you in quite a while your family has always been in our thoughts. I now your father went through a lot with the bone marrow transplant and all the pain that goes with cancer but know he was tryng to stay strong for you and your family as he loved you dearly.
