Dear Dad,
When I was about 10 yrs. old and you left, I would lay in my bed and cry, "I love you Dad". All my life, I tried to be as close to you as I could be. Now I'm 47 yrs. old and you are gone forever, and again, I cry...."I love you Dad!"
I gaze up at the stars in the sky, and know, I will always be your little girl.
Love, Laurie

KIND, LOVING, THOUGHTFUL, GENUINE AND INSPIRING – these are but a few the traits that immediately come to mind when I think about the person we all knew as Keith Traudt. I can only hope that he knew how I felt about him.

Although I didn’t get to see Uncle Keith as often as I would have liked, I am very thankful to have had him in my life. People like him are few and far between in this world. Those who are lucky enough to have had such a person in their life know exactly what I am talking about. He was a rare man and a gift to those of us who had the pleasure of being close with him. It amazes me that he had no idea the positive effect he had on others. He always tried to look at things in a positive light. Uncle Keith was not in the least a “glass half full” kind of person - he was a “the glass is always full” kind of person! I cannot remember how many times he encouraged me and gave me that “lift” – often times, I believe, without even knowing he was doing so. I can only imagine the countless others that he made feel the same way. He touched not only my life, but those of my children’s lives as well. I will miss him very much.

I love you, Aunt Lin. You are forever in my thoughts and prayers.

TO MY BIG BROTHER, MENTOR AND FRIEND

Keith, you were my elder brother, five years my senior, and the oldest of six children. You were my mentor. You taught me the years, makes and models of every car on the road when I was about 9 or 10. When we'd go on a trip we would call out the cars we would pass. There was no need to call out the ones that would pass us, as that would have been boring, since it was too infrequent ! You taught me Canasta, Bid-Whist and a host of other games including Monopoly, which you were a genius at. Thus, no surprise to see you later excel in the Real Estate and Mortgage businesses.

Keith, you always greeted everyone with a beautiful smile, whether in person or on the phone. Even, when you were in the hospital, not feeling well, you would greet any visitor, staff or friend, with a smile or a wink. You always wanted people to know how much you cared for them.

You showed me your friendly and caring personality years ago, when I had financial problems, when you sat down with me and helped me make out a budget, which has helped me immensely over the years.

Later, you hired me to work for you in your tire business in New Bedford, Massachusetts. You not only owned the business, but used your skills, learned in college, to design the building at 525 North St. Later, you designed your beautiful house in Ormond Beach, Florida. Both jobs, well done.

Keith, you were a wonderful son to our parents. You helped them in too many ways to list here. There would be no room for anyone else to make comments if I did so. Even, when you had already been sick, and had two stints in a hospital, you still flew to North Carolina and went and got Mom to drive her back to Florida. You had arranged her surprise 90th birthday party and wouldn't let your own situation ruin her surprise.

When I would call you, or visit you in the hospital, and ask how you were doing, you would usually answer, "SIMPLY MARVELOUS". You kept a great positive attitude for a very long time. I will miss your beautiful smile and brotherly love. I will never forget when you asked me, just a couple days before you went to your new home in Heaven, if you could hold my hand. You squeezed it with both hands and with all the strenth you had left as a thank you for me being there for you. I hope and pray you are "SIMPLY MARVELOUS" in your new home in Heaven. I will miss you.

TO LINDA:

Your love for Keith was evident in every visit. Thanks for being there for Keith and for your love and strength during our visits.

Hi sweetheart, reading this guest book makes me realize that the first impression I had of Keith while standing at the front desk of Aruba Beach Club was spot on!! Then when I sat next to you at dinner I knew we would become great friends. I will cherish all of our talks and get togethers poolside and at the casino. My best memory of Keith will always be his smile and his kindness toward me a total stranger!! I am envious of all the people who knew you and Keith and got to enjoy you both in everyday life. You are in my heart always. I love you very much.

Dear Linda, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time. Keith had such a positive affect on every one who knew him, particularly those of us that new him as a close friend. I will never forget the countless hours and memorable times that you, Keith, Sharon and I spent together over the many years. I will never forget that wonderful boat trip to Georgia the four of us took so many years ago. I will never forget Keith, and of course I will never forget you.
As you know, Keith introduced me to his oncology nurse Denise, to who I am now engaged. From providing me my very first job in high school, to introducing me to Denise, Keith has been not only best of friends, but a unique positive influence over much of my entire life.
We love you Linda, Peter Demers & Denise Hall.
