Gene was my best friend. We met at Hazelwood Central High school our sophomore year 1974-75. He helped me grow to believe in myself. We had so many great times together. Gene even moved back to St Louis, to help me through my divorce. I miss him so much. I thank GOD he is no longer hurting. I don't know who was able to take the photo of him in Gander mtn. shirt, but it really captures his personality. Thank you for posting that photo now when I am hurting very much. It made me remember his fun times.

I met Gene back in the early 90s in an electronics class we attended. We started talking about fishing, and that was it! We fished numerous times together during that time, started a career path together and were roommates a short time down in Deerfield Beach, Fl. We loved hanging out, having a few beers, talking about family and boats, and most of all; always going fishing or least talking crap about it. We also shared a love of music, met good friends along the way, and became pretty good friends ourselves. Ill always miss his hearty laugh, generous ways, and most of all; his fish stories! Godspeed my friend!!
