MARILYN MURIEL BARR

Marilyn Muriel Barr, age 82, lovingly known as "Gum", lost her battle with cancer on March 9, 2012. Marilyn was born in Jamaica, NY to Walter and Katherine Williams and was raised in Floral Park. She married the love of her life, Bob, raised their family in Floral Park and spent many special years in Palenville, NY and Daytona Beach Shores, FL. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who cherished precious time with all. She is survived by her children: Lynda (Dennis) White, Patricia (Chet) Garrison, and Robert Barr; six grandchildren: Bryan (Joanna) White, Marc (Natalie) Garrison, Justin (Kimberly) White, Shannon (Eric) Harris, Robert Barr, and Gene Barr. She also leaves behind six special great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was to be surrounded by her family with laughter and good times. Throughout her life she was a dedicated caregiver to many who loved and needed her. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Robert and sisters Janet and Doris Williams. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 11 a.m. in the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home at 139 Jefferson Heights in Catskill, NY with Rev. Camille Regholder, Pastor of the Palenville United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Palenville Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Palenville United Methodist Church.
