Ronald C. Charbonneau

Palm Coast - Ronald C. Charbonneau of Palm Coast, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Ron was a devoted husband, beloved father, and a doting grandfather to four grandchildren. All who knew Ron said he was always smiling and he truly loved taking smiling pictures of his family.

Ron was born in Pittsfield, MA on October 8, 1945 and adopted by Minnie and Clifford Charbonneau of Vermont. He lived in NYC and moved to Florida his senior year of high school where he graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in 1963. He married Linda Ann Nielsen of Riviera Beach in August of 1967 and they had two children, Christina and William. Ron and Linda lived in Lake Worth, Miami, Davie and finally retired to Palm Coast, FL in 2015.

Ron enjoyed his lifetime career as a television cameraman and worked at WSVN Channel 7 in Miami for 40 years. For 30 years, Ron was also a Chief Petty Officer in the US Coast Guard Reserves. Ron also worked as a freelance cameraman for many companies which afforded him the opportunity to work and travel to many international sporting events and also countless professional sporting events in the South Florida area such as football, golf, baseball, and the Miami Grand Prix. Ron especially enjoyed the years he spent working various college Saturday football games nationally and covering the annual Ft. Lauderdale Boat Parade.

Ron is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Linda Charbonneau. He is also survived by his daughter, Christina Charbonneau Heisler of Ponte Vedra Beach and her husband Christopher along with their three children Zachary, J. Cooper and Sydney. Ron and Linda's son, William Charbonneau passed away in 2016 and is survived by his daughter-in-law Jessica and his grandson Benjamin who reside in Orlando. Ron also has many extended relatives and life-long friends whom he cared deeply about.

The graveside service and burial will be at Riverside Memorial Gardens in Tequesta, FL. A mass at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church in Flagler Beach will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is sharing an opportunity for donations in Ron's memory be made to to Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church at 915 North Central Ave, Flagler Beach, FL 32136.
