VIRGINIA KELLER Obituary

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Virginia Keller (nee) Kossoy. Virginia was 76 years old and suffered for many years with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in New York City and as a child volunteered reading to the blind. She was an avid cyclist and met her husband of 57 years, Frank, through the American Youth Hostel program in the early 1950's. Virginia worked as a microbiologist while raising a family in the Hudson Valley region of New York. She and Frank retired to Holly Hill, Florida in 1982 and together they travelled and took numerous cycling trips in the Western United States, France, Germany and China. In her retirement, Virginia also enjoyed gardening, bonsai, quilting and kayaking. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, two daughters, two sisters and eight grandchildren. Memorial plans are undecided at this time. Donations to Doctors Without Borders or the National Alzheimer's Association are welcomed.

Frank and family, I was so sorry to hear of Virginia's passing. A flood of fond cycling memories came back when I heard the news. Virginia's and your support and help in starting and keeping the Daytona Bicycle Club running are one of my favorites. May God's peace be with Virginia, you and your family.
