Felix Daniel Lawmaster

Felix Daniel Lawmaster departed this life on October 9, 2005, at Cox Medical of Springfield. He was born December 13, 1920, in Halltown, Mo., and spent most of his life there. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Halltown. The youngest and last surviving child of John Wesley and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Lawmaster's 10 children, Felix proudly served his country in North Africa and Southern Europe in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, Felix married "Betty" Robertson of Morrisville, Mo. Betty predeceased him in 1990. To this marriage one daughter was born Janus Conklin and her husband, Dan Conklin, reside near Republic. Felix was a quiet man. He loved the solitude of outdoor sports and was an accomplished angler. A natural musician, without lessons he could play guitar, keyboard, and "fiddle". He is survived by his daughter, Janus granddaughter, Shannon Sorrells and her husband, "Randy" great-granddaughter, Ashlyn, of Springfield his brother's wife, Ruth Lawmaster Fobar, of Mt. Vernon his wife's sister and brother, Marion Barile of Springfield and Bill Robertson and his wife, Dorothy, of Morrisville many nieces and nephews and special caregivers Shirley Atkinson and her family. Burial and graveside services to be held in the family plot in the Halltown Rock Prairie Cemetery at 10 a.m. today.
