Hal Nanninga Obituary

Hal Faye Nanninga

Hal Faye Nanninga, age 86, passed away on June 22, 2015, in Springfield, Mo. He was born on December 23, 1928 in Manhattan, Kan.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Hal worked as an automobile painter for 42 years, retiring in 1990. He loved watching Indy Car racing, the Kansas City Chiefs football games and building Hot Rods.

Hal was preceded in death by his wife, Lulu Sanders; parents, Walter and Essie (Knepper) Nanninga; and a brother, Bernard Nanninga.

He is survived by his children and step-children, Gino and Karen Nanninga, Mark and Sharon Nanninga, Dorthy and David Wyatt and Vernon and Patricia Gibson; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 9 great great-grandchildren; sister, Jen Featherston; and 3 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. A private graveside service will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ASPCA or The Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.
