James Ray Auberry

James Ray Auberry age 81 , of Springfield passed away Thursday, December 1st, 2016.

James was born September 9, 1935 in Laclede County, Missouri to Eugene and Oma Auberry. He was a graduate of Central High School. James retired from Arco Trailers where he worked as a Master Fitter. He also owned and operated Aubrey Gloves, where he made leather work gloves that were sold around the world. James did all of the leather work at Silver Dollar City in the early years of the park. He loved to spend his free time raising his rabbits. James was a member of Northside Assembly of God.

Survivors include his loving wife Betty, of the home; children, Jeffry Ray Auberry and wife Rebecca Jean, Jason Erick Auberry and wife Jennifer Sue, Terry Risner and wife Karen, Janet Manning and husband Mark, and Josh Sutterfield; Grandchildren, James Levi Aubrey, Jearrith Rory Auberry, Jonathan Ray Auberry and wife Kaleta Lyn Auberry, Jacob Ryan Auberry and Courtney Russo, Christopher Rogers, Phillip Rogers, Hannah Rogers, Jared Rogers, Sean Risner, Haven Risner, David Wooley, and Ginger Risner; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Larryn Auberry, Benjamin Cotton Auberry, Lillian Octavia Auberry, Seamus Rory Auberry, Joel Bastian Auberry, Colin Wade Williams, Cheyanne Willow Auberry, Chloe Gwendolyn Auberry, Gator Ryan Hudgens, and Abygail June Auberry; One brother, Clifford Auberry and wife Mary; and a host of family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his wife June Auberry; son, Johnny Eugene Auberry, granddaughter, Candace Octavia Auberry, grandson, Trey Mackenzie Crawford; and two sisters, Norma Compton and Cleta Roper.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with burial in St. Luke's Cemetery, Marshfield, MO. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Monday at Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
