Kenton Murphy Obituary
Kenton Murphy, age 79, born May 22, 1936 went to his heavenly home surrounded by his family on August 26, 2015 in his home. He was a loving husband, dad and pa who will be missed terribly by his family including his wife of 58 years, Wanda, his two daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
Running Bear was his CB handle. He spent 44 years as an over the road driver before retiring from Roadway Express in 1997 where he received many awards for millions of miles of safe driving. He loved to tell the story that he had driven in every state except Alaska and Hawaii. He was a proud Teamster who worked tirelessly for his family.
Kenton and Wanda are members of Springhill Baptist Church where they have enjoyed many friends and a relationship with Christ. A Celebration of life is planned for Saturday, September 19th from 12 to 3 at 1825 N. Pearson Drive, Springfield MO. We will miss you Dad (Pa) but we know for sure you will be watching over your family like you have for years.

Just heard the news today when i went to pick up my grandson at school. I am so sorry for your loss. Im the lady that always saved his space for him in the car line but when he got sick also talked to wanda . Thoughts and prayers to you and the whole family

I was privileged to spend the last 2 weeks of Kentons life with him. We were able to talk and trade truck driving stories together talk about our lives and how privileged we were to have our families. Kenton and Wanda was always very close to me and he treated my family with love and respect. Kenton was my brother and my special friend, I will miss him! Dean and June Murhpy
