Marvin Cole Obituary

Marvin "Buddy" Perry Cole

Marvin "Buddy" Perry Cole, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away, Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at Westwood Hills Healthcare Center, in Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Cole was born July 10, 1939 in Springfield, Ark. to the late Ottis A. and Katie Miller Cole. He was a member of North Nixa Baptist Church in Nixa, Mo., and was a truck driver for Transcon, PIE, and Nations Way Trucking Companies before retiring. Mr. Cole enjoyed spending time with his family, playing the guitar, singing, old cars and horses. He was also an avid collector of pocket knifes and die-cast trucks.

On March 28, 1965, he married Charla Janssen in Williams, Iowa. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons: David Cole of Las Vegas, Nev., Daniel Cole of Denver, Colo., and Darrin Cole (Sara) of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren: Jessica Spelling (Elon) and Emmy Kate and Max Cole; three great-grandchildren: Greyson, Hunter and Marilyn Spellings; a brother, Richard Cole (Marilyn) of Bartlesville, Okla.; and two sisters: Mary Pratt (Bill), of Phoenix, Ariz. and Judy Hughes (Tom), of The Woodlands, Texas.

A sister, Dorothy Bledsoe also preceded Mr. Cole in death.

A Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 at North Nixa Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Francisco officiating.
