Ray Trask Obituary
Springfield - Ray Waldo Trask has transitioned from this earthy home to his eternal home on Nov 29 at 12:26 pm at Maranatha Village. We are deeply saddened by this great loss, but are thankful that he was able to pass peacefully and is now completely whole in the presence of his Savior. Known as our loving daddy and poppa, grandpa Ray, brother, uncle, mentor, leader, teacher, pastor, minister, missionary and friend to all. He served with humility and love, courage and great compassion. He never met a stranger.
Ray was born on March 1, 1934 to his parents Waldo and Beatrice Trask in Brainerd, Minnesota. He was the oldest of three children. Ray married Bethany Mae Beberg on October 13, 1956 in Fergus Falls MN.
Ray worked faithfully as a humble servant leader for 33 years as an Assemblies of God Missionary in the Asia Pacific region in Burma, Indonesia, Thailand and Tonga. While serving abroad he helped start many Bible Colleges, pastored churches and served alongside the local indigenous people groups.
When Ray returned stateside, he served as President at Jimmy Swaggart Bible College Baton Rouge LA, 1986-1988. Dean of Students at Valley Forge Christian College in Pennsylvania 1988-1990. President of Trinity Bible College Ellendale, ND 1992-1994.
He is preceded in death by his parents Waldo and Beatrice Trask, and his beloved wife of 34 years, Bethany Mae Trask. He will be greatly missed and is survived by his brother, Thomas Trask, his sister Patricia Holmquist, his oldest daughter Katrina Graham, and his youngest daughter, Lettie Beth Applegate. By his grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Kaila Quinn, Courtney Graham, Christopher Graham, Isaac Applegate and Kaitlin Applegate.
Psalm 116: 15 " Precious in the sight of the Lord are the death of his saints."
Visitation will be from 2 pm to 3 pm on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with services to follow at 3 pm. Burial will be at a later date in Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery in Valley Forge Park.

I met Ray Trask in the fall of 1984. That was the first year that Jimmy Swaggart Bible College opened. I taught English Composition and was so fortunate to have Ray’s office right next to mine. I taught him about English Composition and he taught me so much about his missionary work in Indonesia. I felt like I rubbed shoulders with one of the greatest missionaries of all time. I learned so much from Ray which was way more than he learned from me. His rewards in Heaven will be great.
