Retha Fay Jones

Retha Fay Jones, 87, passed away January 28, 2009, in Woodland Manor Nursing Home, in Springfield, Mo. She was born on February 11, 1921, near Marshfield, Mo., to parents, Thurman and Estella Vinyard, one of 11 children. She was a member of Willard United Methodist Church, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years of being a rural mail carrier. Retha was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Jones; her parents; two sisters; two brothers; one great-grandson; and two sons-in-law. Survivors include two sons, Danny and Ronnie; two daughters, Patty and Janice; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchilren; four sisters, Georgia Moore, Blanche Bass, Edith Meyer and Betty Herman; and two brothers, Junior and Ralph Vinyard. The family would like to thank all who sat and held her hand during these last few weeks. Visitation will be in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 31, with the memorial service immediately following at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Willard United Methodist Church in honor of Retha Jones.
