Sean Preece Obituary
Sean Alexander Preece, 28, died Wednesday, June 22. Sean grew up in Springfield and Columbia, MO, and graduated from Kickapoo High School in 2007. His charming smile and keen intellect allowed him to talk himself into, and out of, all manner of things. Sean didn't have a middle gear. He lived hard, loved fiercely, and played to win while always defending the underdog. He was a kind and compassionate soul, and never let a lady open a door. His wickedly clever sense of humor kept everyone around him laughing. Sean was a talented athlete, and played several sports competitively throughout his life. Though he struggled with addiction for many years, the disease did not define him. He was predeceased by his father, Charles J. Preece. Left to mourn him are his mother, Cynthia L. (Finley) Northcutt; stepfather Sean M. Northcutt; stepmother Nicole Nemer and brothers Nicholas and Tanner Preece; stepmother Kim Preece, grandfather Jerry L. Finley, and a host of family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Lake Springfield Boathouse, 5324 S. Kissick Ave., with visitation beginning at 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Rare Breed Youth Outreach Center or to the charity of your choice.

Sean was a good man and a great friend. We made some solid memories together. His free spirit was always his best quality. There was nothing that boy couldn't do when he set his mind to it. I will cherish the times we spent together. My heart is heavy for his family, my condolences. I'm very happy to have had the chance to become good friends with Sean. Until we meet again, rest in peace brother.

Oh Cindy and Sean Northcutt and the large and varied family, most especially Jerry and Doug who I have known for many,many years. Having lost a son, I know the shattering of your heart and it will take a long, long time to find some kind of peace and then it is just ok, never healed. But you must draw on your faith and joy in God's plan. Can you just hear Jeannie with a cup of coffee sitting in the kitchen with Sean. You sorta want to be there to listen but mostly you are glad you are not. I am with you a call away. Love you.
